The Jets have gone and shocked the NFL world again.
After allowing their GM to coordinate, plan and select their picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Jets have decided to fire their GM Mike MacCagnan.
MacCagnan was supposedly the leading force behind the signing of free agent RB Le'Veon Bell, which led to some disagreements internally about how much money he was getting.
There were other rumors about a power struggle between Maccagnan and Head Coach Adam Gase, but Gase denies a power struggle ever existed.
“I disagree with that… as far as a power struggle,” Gase told reporters on Monday. “Whoever’s going to be hired (as the next GM) is going to have the same control: Control of the roster… I coach the football team. Nothing’s changing in that structure.”
Either way, Gase gets to stay and lead the search for a new GM.
So, there you have it. Your 2019 New York Jets.
