Despite the chance to start at QB with new coach Chip Kelly reports indicate that Kaep is finally done with the Niners.
In the Daily News report they indicate that the Jets are aware of the QB's interest and are evaluating him as a player. They are however concerned about moving too quickly due to the perception of tampering.
What is considered a sticking point by many in the NFL is the large extension Kaepernick signed in 2014. That contract was for $114 million with 5 years left on the deal. If the Niners can't deal him, they can cut him prior to April 1st to save $8.5 million.
As for fantasy implications, it could get interesting.
For the 49ers, there's not a ton of impact yet.
For the Jets, it's interesting as Fitz is a free agent and this could impact Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall. According to PFT, Marshall doesn't want Colin there.
We'll have to wait and see if anything happens before we actually break down the true fantasy impact.
