Early 2015 Fantasy QB Rankings

By March 4, 2015 No Comments

The 2014 season was an interesting year for the fantasy quarterback. We saw Andrew Luck emerge as an indisputable top 5 at the position, and saw Jay Cutler fall farther from grace than even I (a Packers fan) would like to see. We saw Peyton Manning being sat for Alex Smith in fantasy playoffs, and Kyle Orton once again return to the fantasy conversation. All very weird, and very unpredictable. The lines distinguishing the tiers of these fantasy quarterbacks grew blurrier and the parity among quarterbacks ranked 3 through 12 drove us crazier.

Looking Towards Fantasy Quarterbacks in 2015

I don’t expect things to get easier in 2015 regarding drafting your fantasy quarterback. In past drafts, it was common that three or four guys in your league would draft that top tier QB in the first 4 rounds, and usually everyone else went after round 9. Quarterback used to be a position in this ever increasing pass heavy league that you didn’t have to stress about since it was so deep, and good ones were always available whether through waivers or trades. As the position grows more unpredictable, I believe ranking this position and getting it right, could be vital to your fantasy success.

When Should You Start Thinking Fantasy Football?

Obviously in March, it’s too early to start worrying about your August draft, right? You agree? WRONG. You are a fantasy scrub. It is never too early to stress about Peyton Manning’s decline, RG3’s health or if Derek Carr will get the proper coaching to develop properly and become the fantasy sleeper you are predicting him to be so you can show all your friends you’re a genius and finally get that elusive fantasy championship that haunts both your dreams and your sex life…..as usual I digress.

Enough chatter, here are my top 25 QB rankings for the upcoming season. (These rankings are based on the assumption that everyone will stay where they are currently and be healthy.)
